Kind help begins with good information.

What TNR means

Trap-neuter-return is the humane process of trapping community cats, having them spayed or neutered and typically vaccinated, allowing recovery, and returning them to their familiar outdoor home when appropriate.

Why fixing cats matters

Spay and neuter prevents new litters and can reduce mating behaviors. One unfixed cat can quickly lead to many kittens when food and shelter are available.

Why removal may not solve it

When cats are simply removed, available food and shelter can attract other cats. Ongoing TNR and responsible feeding address reproduction while stabilizing a colony.

Found a kitten? Pause first

A mother cat may be nearby finding food. Watch from a safe distance when the kittens appear warm, clean, quiet, and healthy. Avoid moving them prematurely.

When help may be urgent

Cold, injured, listless, visibly ill, continuously crying, or endangered kittens may need prompt help. Contact a veterinarian or experienced rescue for guidance.

Help responsibly

Coordinate feeding, keep areas clean, identify affordable clinics, plan appointments before trapping, and never relocate a community cat without expert guidance.
